Paleo Chili

This post has been a long time coming.  Being that winter is approaching, I thought it would be fitting to share this recipe I have made many times.  So here we are talking chili - and not just any chili but paleo chili!  Don't be fooled by the long list of ingredients.  Everything works in harmony together once you get it all into the vessel.  I use a 6 quart slow cooker (this one) and it fills to the brim when I add all the items.  Let me know if you make this and win any chili cook offs!

Turmeric Cauliflower Rice

Everything we cook serves a purpose on our plate.  Whether it's a main dish, side course, or stew/soup that serves as a full meal, it all gets thought out and comes together one way or another.  Today I am going to give you the key to unlocking a dish which will serve a very versatile role on your plate.  It can be a side dish or better yet, a great base for you to top with your favorite curry, stew, or meat dish.  Of course I am talking about cauliflower rice, and not just any cauliflower rice, but turmeric cauliflower rice!  Lets talk turmeric for a second.  Native to South Asia, this plant is used in many different types of dishes to bring out a unique earthy and slightly peppery taste.  Beyond that, turmeric has been know to be extremely good for you and provides many health benefits that you can review here.  Drum roll...and now for the recipe:

Sitcoms vs. Steps from Walking

Evolutionary evidence will point to the fact that humans oldest and most natural mode of transportation is walking.  In fact walking seems to be one of the easiest and most forgotten methods to a healthy lifestyle.  Some say it's a lost art.  During the Paleolithic era, humans would walk on average 10 miles (16km) per day.  Imagine how much of a positive effect that would have on your health!  Walking regularly is a small and easy step (pun intended!) in the right direction to taking control of your health.  An easy contrast would be to ask this question: Is your 22 min sitcom, which you will most likely watch on your couch, worth more than a 22 minute walk that will provide you with a multitude of health benefits beyond just losing weight?  Let's get a little deeper to round out this topic.
